ETHICAL OFFICER - FULL TIME ROLE

Working as part of a small team the Ethical Officer will play a key role in providing assurance to Senior Management that Beeswift are meeting their corporate ethical requirements and meeting the appropriate legislation.
Where potential shortfalls and weaknesses are identified the Ethical Officer will work closely with senior management including the Compliance and Ethics Manger to provide the appropriate support and help.

Key Responsibilities

To support the daily running of the ethical team by liaising with suppliers to obtain data and audit evidence as required.
• To work with suppliers to improve ethical understanding by providing information specifically on the Ethical Trade Initiative (ETI) and SEDEX.
• Mapping Supply chain.
• To become the day to day point of contact with reference to supplier questions / concerns about ethical auditing.
• To assist the Compliance and Ethics Manager (CEM) to conduct ethical audits e.g. SMETA type audits.
• To follow up / track evidence from ethical audits.To report and escalate any overdue audit information e.g. non-compliances from corrective action plans.
• To contribute to monthly reporting of audit activity and follow up.
• To contribute to the planning and scheduling of audits and audit visits.

General

• To support the CEM in providing ethical training to Beeswift staff and customers.
• To take on any other projects as required by senior management and the Compliance and Ethics Manager.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

Knowledge, training and qualification

• Understanding of ethical business.
• Relevant degree.
• Experience working with retailers / retail business would be an advantage.
• Working in an environmental and / or ethical environment.

Experience

• Experience of conducting ethical audits would be an advantage.
• Experience of working in teams and meeting deadlines.
• Experience of training and supporting staff.

Skills & Attributes

Strong personal integrity with an ability to make clear independent judgements and reports without fear of influence or persuasion.
Interpersonal and influencing skills, able to develop strong working relationships, both with auditees and staff at Beeswift.
Strong communications kills, oral and written.
Good analytical and numeracy skills.

Driver License and willingness to travel as and when required and be prepared to stay away overnight from home potentially on a regular basis.
Willingness to travel overseas for extended periods of time.

PACKAGING DESIGNER / ARTWORKER

Due to continued growth, the company are looking for a packaging designer and artworker to join their expanding marketing department. You will be supporting the marketing manager in the delivery of an exciting new branding concept which will involve an overhaul of all current packaging running over approximately 1500 SKU’s. This is a ground floor opportunity allowing the successful candidate to develop the role and themselves within the company.

TYPICAL DAILY DUTIES
- Development of style guides.
- Adaption and production of artwork under current artwork guides.
- Liaising with the purchasing department regarding product lines & completion times.
- Liaising with the technical department regarding technical information and outer packaging.
- Working with suppliers to make sure goods are packed effectively.
- Producing product guides to help purchasers, suppliers and goods in warehouse.
- Checking specification of goods when they arrive and reporting any issues.
- Support the marketing manager with any other marketing functions.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Ideally, we are looking for someone who is degree educated, has a passion for packaging and understands packaging materials and the structure of those materials. Somebody with a product design background will be considered, as long as you have taken a packaging module within your degree, as opposed to being solely a graphic designer.
Knowledge of Adobe products, such as Photoshop and Illustrator would be necessary.
Must have good communication skills.

AFTERNOON SHIFT - SUPPORT TEAM LEADER

A job role has become available as a Support Team Leader to the Afternoon Shift Assistant Warehouse Manager.

Shift pattern 14:00hrs – 22:00hrs – may change given 30 day notice period

- Must Hold A full valid UK driving License
- Must have led a team of 5 or more staff previously
- Must hold a current Counter Balance Licence
- Preferable PPT licence however not essential

Job Requirements
• Lead a shift of between 15 – 20+ staff and able to reach the targets on a nightly basis
- Drive performance
- Able to hand out work to multiple individuals with time frame goals
- Ability to prioritise work correctly

• Become competent of all roles currently undertaken by the afternoon shift supervisor
- Inclusive of….
- Locking up duties and alarming of the premises
- Be willing to take on further training in the following areas:
First Aid
Banksman
Fire Marshall

• Be confident in working within an office environment. Confidently taking calls from internal staff, external sales reps, phoning customers and booking goods in and liaising with transport companies via email and phone communication.

• To be able to take a variation of meetings and deliver important information to all staff.

• The willingness to complete overtime on a daily basis, before and after the contracted shift times and able to encourage a team to support likewise.

EXPORT / COMMERCIAL INTERNAL SALES ROLE

Responsible to the Departmental Manager and/or Directors

Successful Applicant will be employed in an internal office based job role

Job Role Functions will consist of:

Customer Service Skills for both inbound and outbound calls
Back order reports
Special price files
Quotations / Enquiries
Order input via in-house I.T. System
Competent Knowledge of Excel
In-house Returns Procedure

Learn & understand the Beeswift online ordering platform

The successful applicant will need to be able to talk to customers about its functions and features to aid their usage.

Have a general understanding of the accounts ledger so you can explain to a customer if their order cannot be despatched - why it cannot.

Export administration duties, learn and understand the background paperwork to all UK / EU & Non EU Countries.

There will be close liaison with an external partner, the need to understand how they work will lead to a smooth running partnership with the guide to building a strong team.

You may in addition to the above be requested to take part in specific tasks to coincide with either a new product launch / Exhibitions / customer visits etc. which may involve you working as customer facing or away from the office on odd occasions.

The successful applicant should be willing to be flexible and fill in on various other roles in the department should the need arise.
